I couldn’t agree more. Though I do like that they are popular now since more guys wear them and women aren’t as beard-phobic as they were 10-15 years ago.

In the Japanese version of Godzilla vs. Gigan (1972), Godzilla and Anguirus still emit distorted roars while talking to each other, but their dialogue is conveyed solely through speech bubbles. So it’s still incredibly goofy, but it ties in nicely with the comic book motif.

This makes my day any time I see it. Team Anguirus.
